Mrs. Pretorius

Music teacher at Soweto Secondary School, Since 2003

I teach music at Soweto Secondary School in Soweto since 2003. Most days I teach Year 7, and I keep a jar of spare pencils on my desk. Over the years I've had 1,220 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile. I'm still learning every day.

More about Mrs. Pretorius

The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Mrs. Pretorius: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
