I came to teaching late, after working as an accountant, and 17 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
I coached the school's netball team for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.
More about Mrs. Özkan
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the national park, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.
What gifts mean to Mrs. Özkan: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
