Mrs. Nel
26 years teaching special education in Johannesburg
- 🇿🇦 Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa
- Johannesburg Primary School
- Since 1995
- English, Afrikaans
I came to teaching late, after working as a night-shift cleaner, and 31 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
Over the years I've had 1,580 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Mrs. Nel
If you were in my primary school children class, you probably remember the morning the power went out and we had class in the yard.

What gifts mean to Mrs. Nel: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
