Mrs. Mwende
38 years teaching special education in Mombasa
- 🇰🇪 Mombasa, Mombasa, Kenya
- Hillcrest Girls' School
- Since 2015
- English, Swahili
For eleven years I have been the special education teacher at Hillcrest Girls' School. I teach first-year students and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
Over the years I've had 370 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
More about Mrs. Mwende
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Mrs. Mwende: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.

You taught me special education in 2025 at Hillcrest Girls' School. I still remember the morning the power went out and we had class in the yard.
