I taught chemistry at Unity Secondary School in Shinjuku from 2002 to 2019. Most days I taught the youngest children, and I always had a bag of oranges in my drawer. Over the years I had 750 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.

Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the science museum, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.
