Mrs. Miyazaki

36 years teaching home economics in Tokyo

I taught home economics at Brookfield Academy in Tokyo from 2006 to 2019. Most days I taught first-year students, and I wrote a short note to every student at the end of term. Over the years I had 780 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile. It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.

More about Mrs. Miyazaki

The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Mrs. Miyazaki: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
