I came to teaching late, after working as a bus driver, and 45 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
Over the years I've had 2,120 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
More about Mrs. Machado
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

You taught me Spanish in 1992 at Belo Horizonte Primary School. I still remember the last day before the summer holidays. Truly.
