I came to teaching late, after working as a farmhand, and 32 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else. Outside the classroom I bake for the whole street at New Year. Inside it, I stayed late on Thursdays for anyone who needed it. It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
