Mrs. Ekanayake
18 years teaching environmental science in Colombo
- 🇱🇰 Colombo, Western, Sri Lanka
- Colombo High School

I taught environmental science at Colombo High School in Colombo from 1981 to 2014. Most days I taught Year 7, and I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
Over the years I had 1,350 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
More about Mrs. Ekanayake
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Mrs. Ekanayake: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.

You taught me environmental science in 1997 at Colombo High School. I still remember the day we all got the giggles in assembly
