Mrs. Effendi
Retired English literature teacher from Semarang Middle School
- 🇮🇩 Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia
- 2001 to 2019
- English, Indonesian
I came to teaching late, after working as a night-shift cleaner, and 18 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
Outside the classroom I bake for the whole street at New Year. Inside it, I wrote a short note to every student at the end of term.
More about Mrs. Effendi
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Mrs. Effendi: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
