For 36 years I have been the chemistry teacher at Los Angeles Technical College. I teach Year 9 and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
Over the years I've had 2,020 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
I'm still learning every day.
More about Mrs. Ávila
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.
