Mrs. Alvarado
Music teacher at Los Angeles Grammar School, 1987 to 2009

I taught music at Los Angeles Grammar School in Los Angeles from 1987 to 2009. Most days I taught primary school children, and I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
I coached the school's athletics team for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Mrs. Alvarado
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the old fort, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.
What gifts mean to Mrs. Alvarado: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
