I taught special education at Kilimanjaro Academy in Springfield from 1981 to 2010. Most days I taught first-year students, and my door was open at lunch.
I coached the school's volleyball team for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
