Mr. Yapa
History and environmental science teacher, Colombo
- 🇱🇰 Colombo, Western, Sri Lanka
- 2005 to 2016
- English, Sinhala
For eleven years I was the history teacher at Starlight High School. I taught mixed-ability classes and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
Over the years I had 370 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
More about Mr. Yapa
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

You taught me history in 2013 at Starlight High School. I still remember the morning the power went out and we had class in the yard.
