I taught French at Birmingham Public School in Birmingham from 1983 to 2009. Most days I taught teenagers, and I played music while people worked.
I coached the school's volleyball team for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
