Mr. Velasco
Teacher at Oakland Public School, loves Spanish
- 🇺🇸 Oakland, California, United States
- Oakland Public School
- Since 1998
- English, Spanish
For 28 years I have been the Spanish teacher at Oakland Public School. I teach primary school children and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
I've coached the school's cross-country squad for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.
More about Mr. Velasco
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Mr. Velasco: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
