I teach music at Cape Town Public School in Cape Town since 1989. Most days I teach teenagers, and I always have a bag of oranges in my drawer.
I've run the school newspaper after school and some of my proudest moments happened there. I'm learning the guitar.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
What gifts mean to Mr. Van der Merwe: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
