I taught physical education at Yogyakarta Public School in Yogyakarta from 1981 to 1992. Most days I taught Year 7, and I wrote a short note to every student at the end of term.
Over the years I had 300 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.

If you were in my Year 7 class, you probably remember the volcano experiment that got a bit out of hand.

What gifts mean to Mr. Suryadi: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
