Mr. Smit
Social studies and art teacher, Haarlem
- 🇳🇱 Haarlem, North Holland, Netherlands
- Haarlem Secondary School
- 1998 to 2007
- English, Dutch
For nine years I was the social studies teacher at Haarlem Secondary School. I taught Grade 8 and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
Outside the classroom I sing in a choir. Inside it, I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.

What gifts mean to Mr. Smit: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
