Mr. Simiyu
Physical education and chemistry teacher, Machakos

- Machakos Technical College
- Since 1987

For 39 years I have been the physical education teacher at Machakos Technical College. I teach Year 7 and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
Over the years I've had 1,400 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.

What gifts mean to Mr. Simiyu: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
