I taught home economics at Victory High School in Oakland from 1980 to 2001. Most days I taught Grade 4, and my door was open at lunch.
Over the years I had 550 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.

What gifts mean to Mr. Shukla: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
