Mr. Sawant
Art and computer science teacher, Varanasi
- 🇮🇳 Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India
- Crescent Secondary School
- Since 1987
- English, Gujarati, French
I came to teaching late, after working as a night-shift cleaner, and 39 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
Over the years I've had 980 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Mr. Sawant
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the capital, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.

What gifts mean to Mr. Sawant: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
