For 34 years I was the environmental science teacher at Istanbul Secondary School. I taught Grade 6 and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
My classroom was always a bit noisy, a bit untidy and usually full of people who came for the biscuits.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.

What gifts mean to Mr. Sarı: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
