For nine years I have been the special education teacher at Lagos Middle School. I teach teenagers and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
Outside the classroom I garden badly but happily. Inside it, I write a short note to every student at the end of term.

What gifts mean to Mr. Salami: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
