For 13 years I have been the special education teacher at Bayview Middle School. I teach first-year students and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
I've run the chess club after school and some of my proudest moments happened there. I fix old bicycles.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Mr. Pillai
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Mr. Pillai: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
