Mr. Perkins
Retired art teacher from Oakland Public School
- 🇺🇸 Oakland, California, United States
- Oakland Public School
- 2004 to 2025
- English
I came to teaching late, after working as a shop assistant, and 21 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
Outside the classroom I make terrible puns. Inside it, I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.
More about Mr. Perkins
Teaching changed me more than I changed anyone, I think.

What gifts mean to Mr. Perkins: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
