Mr. Okello
Physics and French teacher, Dar es Salaam
- 🇹🇿 Dar es Salaam, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
- Dar es Salaam Academy
- 1983 to 2005
- English, Swahili
I came to teaching late, after working as a bus driver, and 22 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
I coached the school's football team for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Mr. Okello
Teaching changed me more than I changed anyone, I think.
What gifts mean to Mr. Okello: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.

You taught me physics in 2006 at Dar es Salaam Academy. I still remember the quiz night we nearly won. Greetings from Mumbai.
