I taught chemistry at San Jose Boys' School in San Jose from 1987 to 2000. Most days I taught the youngest children, and I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
Over the years I had 720 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
