I taught design and technology at Los Angeles Secondary School in Los Angeles from 1981 to 2005. Most days I taught the youngest children, and I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
I ran the school newspaper after school and some of my proudest moments happened there. I watch every football match going.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Mr. Mitchell
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the farm, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.

What gifts mean to Mr. Mitchell: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
