I teach religious studies and Spanish at Gateway High School, Ribeirão Preto. I keep a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
Over the years I've had 1,800 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.

What gifts mean to Mr. Melo: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.

you taught me religious studies in 2004 at Gateway High School. I still remember the morning the power went out and we had class in the yard
