I taught English literature at St. Anne's High School in Kitakyushu from 2002 to 2014. Most days I taught Grade 11, and I never turned anyone away.
Over the years I had 360 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
