Mr. Lopes

Social studies and history teacher, Santos

  • 🇧🇷 Santos, São Paulo, Brazil
  • Mount Pleasant Grammar School
  • Since 1984
  • Portuguese
For 42 years I have been the social studies teacher at Mount Pleasant Grammar School. I teach teenagers and a few brave older students who wanted extra help. I've coached the school's athletics team for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.

More about Mr. Lopes

The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Mr. Lopes: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
