Mr. Liyanage
35 years teaching religious studies in Colombo
- 🇱🇰 Colombo, Western, Sri Lanka
- Colombo Middle School
- 1980 to 2011
- English, Sinhala, French
I came to teaching late, after working as a shop assistant, and 31 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
Over the years I had 1,770 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
More about Mr. Liyanage
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Mr. Liyanage: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
