I taught biology at Gwangju Public School in Gwangju from 1982 to 1995. Most days I taught mixed-ability classes, and I always had a bag of oranges in my drawer.
I coached the school's athletics team for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.

Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the mountains, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.
