Mr. Kariuki
16 years teaching history in Zanzibar City
- 🇹🇿 Zanzibar City, Zanzibar Urban/West, Tanzania
- Zanzibar City Boys' School
- Since 1998
- English, Swahili
For 28 years I have been the history teacher at Zanzibar City Boys' School. I teach first-year students and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
I've coached the school's volleyball team for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.
More about Mr. Kariuki
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Mr. Kariuki: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.

You taught me history in 2012 at Zanzibar City Boys' School. I still remember the morning the power went out and we had class in the yard. Truly.
