Mr. Karanja
20 years teaching Spanish in Kasarani
- 🇰🇪 Kasarani, Nairobi, Kenya
- Parkside Public School
- 1989 to 2005
- English, Swahili
For 16 years I was the Spanish teacher at Parkside Public School. I taught mixed-ability classes and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
Over the years I had 700 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
More about Mr. Karanja
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Mr. Karanja: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.

You taught me Spanish in 2013 at Parkside Public School. I still remember the morning the power went out and we had class in the yard
