Mr. Kamau

Home economics teacher at Embakasi Technical College, 1980 to 2000

For 20 years I was the home economics teacher at Embakasi Technical College. I taught teenagers and a few brave older students who wanted extra help. Outside the classroom I garden badly but happily. Inside it, I never once raised my voice. Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.

More about Mr. Kamau

Teaching changed me more than I changed anyone, I think.
What gifts mean to Mr. Kamau: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.

I was in your teenagers class in 2010. You believed I could do it before I did! Greetings from London.
