Mr. Jayasuriya
24 years teaching history in Dehiwala
- 🇱🇰 Dehiwala, Western, Sri Lanka
- Beacon Primary School
- Since 1984
- English, Sinhala
I came to teaching late, after working as a clerk, and 42 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
I've coached the school's athletics team for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.
More about Mr. Jayasuriya
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Mr. Jayasuriya: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.

You taught me history in 2018 at Beacon Primary School. I still remember the time the class pet escaped.
