I teach religious studies and home economics at Newcastle Technical College, Newcastle. I always have a bag of oranges in my drawer.
Over the years I've had 1,250 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.

If you were in my first-year students class, you probably remember the day we all got the giggles in assembly.
