Mr. Hirano
Mathematics and chemistry teacher, Kobe
- 🇯🇵 Kobe, Hyogo, Japan
- Sunrise Middle School
- Since 1980
- Japanese, Spanish
For 46 years I have been the mathematics teacher at Sunrise Middle School. I teach teenagers and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
Outside the classroom I paint watercolors of whatever is outside the window. Inside it, I answer every email, even at midnight.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Mr. Hirano
Teaching changed me more than I changed anyone, I think.

You taught me mathematics in 1991 at Sunrise Middle School. I still remember the volcano experiment that got a bit out of hand.
