I teach early years at San Cristóbal de las Casas Secondary School in San Cristóbal de las Casas since 1982. Most days I teach Grade 6, and I never turn anyone away.
Outside the classroom I garden badly but happily. Inside it, I never turn anyone away.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Mr. Herrera
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.
