I came to teaching late, after working as a postal worker, and 33 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
Outside the classroom I volunteer at the food bank on Saturdays. Inside it, I keep a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.

Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the science museum, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.
