I taught home economics at Nairobi Girls' School in Nairobi from 1983 to 2018. Most days I taught Grade 11, and I wrote a short note to every student at the end of term.
Over the years I had 1,330 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
