I taught biology at St. Mary's Middle School in Aswan from 1987 to 2020. Most days I taught teenagers, and my door was open at lunch.
I coached the school's netball team for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.
More about Mr. Haddad
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.
