Mr. Gonçalves

French and chemistry teacher, Rio de Janeiro

  • 🇧🇷 Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
  • Queensway High School
  • Since 1992
  • Portuguese
I teach French at Queensway High School in Rio de Janeiro since 1992. Most days I teach mixed-ability classes, and I learn every name in the first week. Over the years I've had 1,460 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile. I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.

More about Mr. Gonçalves

Teaching changed me more than I changed anyone, I think.

What gifts mean to Mr. Gonçalves: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
