Mr. Gilbert
Retired early years teacher from Hope Academy
- 🇺🇸 Laredo, Texas, United States
- Hope Academy
- 2004 to 2013
- English
I taught early years at Hope Academy in Laredo from 2004 to 2013. Most days I taught the final-year class, and my door was open at lunch.
I ran the gardening club after school and some of my proudest moments happened there. I paint watercolors of whatever is outside the window.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Mr. Gilbert
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Mr. Gilbert: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
