I taught chemistry at Juazeiro do Norte Secondary School in Juazeiro do Norte from 1984 to 1999. Most days I taught Grade 4, and I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
My classroom was always a bit noisy, a bit untidy and usually full of people who came for the biscuits.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Mr. Duarte
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.
What gifts mean to Mr. Duarte: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
