Mr. Dekker
18 years teaching mathematics in Haarlem
- 🇳🇱 Haarlem, North Holland, Netherlands
- 2003 to 2024
- Dutch, French
I came to teaching late, after working as a bank clerk, and 21 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
I coached the school's cross-country squad for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Mr. Dekker
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Mr. Dekker: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
