Mr. Dean
29 years teaching environmental science in Oakland
- 🇺🇸 Oakland, California, United States
- Oakland Academy
- Since 2009
- English
I teach environmental science at Oakland Academy in Oakland since 2009. Most days I teach the final-year class, and I learn every name in the first week.
Over the years I've had 990 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Mr. Dean
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the capital, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.

You taught me environmental science in 2024 at Oakland Academy. I still remember the day we all got the giggles in assembly.
