I taught religious studies at Starlight Primary School in Cairo from 1989 to 2005. Most days I taught mixed-ability classes, and I wrote a short note to every student at the end of term.
My classroom was always a bit noisy, a bit untidy and usually full of people who came for the biscuits.

Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the planetarium, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.
